CHUWI VI10 PLUS Tablet PC Detailed Review
Hardware and Design
Chuwi Vi10 is among the tablets which use the faster Z3736F Atom SoC over the slower Z3735F. It boasts of top boost speed as 2.16 GHz and its little quad core is equipped with 2 GB RAM. It also has a 32 GB eMMC ROM storage capacity and a MicroSD card slow which can expand your memory up to 128 GB.
The tablet weighs in at 626 grams and has 9 mm thickness which is quite impressive considering the fact that it also consists of two full-sized USB ports. The ports are on the left side and are well spaced apart. Though it will require maintenance as its rear is glass with black gloss backing and it also has a fingerprint magnet which requires constant cleaning. It is much better than the cheaper 8 inch Vi8 but having a rear glass panel makes it more prone to damage and cracks.
Display and Screen
The screen of Chuwi Vi10 is 10.8 inch having a resolution as 1920 pixels by 1280 pixels. It is also an IPS panel which has some 3D performance benefits which can be observed while gaming.
The resolution looked fine when run on Windows, which was better than expected but when Android was used, the screen was a bit blurry, which could have been due to the screen DPI set which doesn’t allow it to be as sharp as in Windows. Once Vi10 is rooted, it would be better to edit the DPI to remove the blurriness and the scale set to 1:1 which would make the screen much sharper.
There was no such issue with brightness. The brightness is adequate, even at its maximum 259cd/m2, it doesn’t hurt the eye. At its lowest the panel can reach 13cd/m2, which makes it useful for night time use.
The touch response of the panel is excellent and functions smoothly. The default scaling is set to 125% which helps the user as they never have to push hard on the screen.
Dual OS Switching (Remix OS & Windows)
Chuwi Vi10 uses the Insyde bios switching system to interchange between different operating software. While using Android, you have to pull down the top menu and select the option to switch to Windows. While in Windows, you just have to click the OS Switcher application which will then reboot the tablet into Android in merely 15-20 seconds.
The third way to select your OS is on boot, by holding the volume down button when booting and then selecting the OS which you require using the volume and power on button.
Its battery is one of its strongest points. With 40% brightness, you can reach 6 hours and 30 minutes in Android even if the Wi-Fi is continuously on and you are browsing and in between watching videos in 720p. While in Windows, it was increased to 7 hours with 40% brightness and consumption due to web use, TV clips and gaming.
But the only pain is when you are charging the tablet, as even with power off, it takes around 5-6 hours to reach from 0% to 100%. It can easily reach 9-10 hours with the tablet running.
The overall conclusion is that the device is really good as Chuwi have come up with a fast and well equipped dual boot tablet. The inclusion of two full sized USB ports, the speakers, and the battery life is a huge plus. But the initial 32 GB memory is a bit less, it would have been better had this been 64GB and the time required for charging is a negative point as well.
Currently, the device is on flash sale, you can get CHUWI VI10 PLUS (Windows + Remix Os) for Only just $170.Buy it here
