HTC releases HTC 10 update with the March Security update to unlocked models.

HTC has been going through some troubles off late, the company at the start of this year launched the HTC U Ultra which looking at the specifications and the price it was sold for should have been released in middle of last year. The phone also didn’t get very good reviews with the most controversial thing on the phone being the decision to remove the headphone jack. This made HTC’s trouble after lack lusture sales last year more worrying than ever before. Though, HTC has been concentrating on the good part and the company has now released the March security patch for the HTC 10 which was launched last year and received good scores from reviewers. The phone has been sold unlocked as well as through carriers in U.S

The HTC 10 is already running Android 7.0 Nougat, so this update is based on Nougat. The software version is 2.46.617.2 and it has a size of around 560MB. The update is available as an OTA for the unlocked variant of the device.

Apart from a few bug fixes and general performance improvements, the update installs the March Android security patch on the smartphone. Thus, we recommend that you install the update as soon as it’s available for your device.

If you haven’t received the update yet, do not worry, as it is being deployed gradually. In case you cannot wait, check for the update manually in the Settings app. As always, before installing the update, backup your device, and make sure it has more than 50 percent charge. Also make sure to connect to a private WiFi network to download the update as its a big update at more than 500 MB which could drain out your data plan if you refuse to use the WiFi. Also ensure to give enough time for the update process as it may take time.
