Huawei has started to rollout the Android 7.0 Nougat update to the Honor 6X in China.

Honor launched the Honor 6X smartphone this year with an dual-camera setup which is the main talking point of this device. The phone also boasts some impressive specs and comes at a budget price range competing with the likes of Redmi Note 4 and the Moto G5 and the Moto G5 Plus in India. Now, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has been busy on updating its phone to the latest version of Android, Android Nougat. While the update is still Android 7.0 Nougat and not Android 7.1.1 Nougat, it is still a step in the right direction for the brand.

After months of testing, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor is finally rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update to the Honor 6X. Huawei has now started giving Android 7.0 Nougat update with build B357 in China. Do note that the update is being pushed out in batches which means it may take some time for it to hit your devices. The update is only available in China currently with the other parts of the World getting it eventually.

The update is rolling out to all four variants of Honor 6X in China — BLN-AL10, BLN-AL20, BLN-TL10 and BLN-TL00. For those who were already running the Android 7.0 Nougat beta build (B351) on their Honor 6X, an OTA update of 259MB is rolling out for the official firmware build B357. While those running on the Marshmallow based B172 firmware, the B357 update is coming in at 2.15GB in size.

Huawei posts that the update is based on user feedback and is tailor-made for the Honor 6X. The Nougat update, as usual, adds all new features that it has in store. Meaning, users will now be able to use the multi-window mode for better multi-tasking or simply turn on the improved Doze mode to squeeze additional battery life from the smartphone.

As is the case with all the updates, make sure to charge your phone properly and have the phone connected to a good WiFi connection for the update process to run smoothly.
