How to Manually Update Yu Yureka/Yu Yureka Plus to Cyanogen OS 12.1 (Android 5.1.1)

Step By Step Guide

Update Yu Yureka/Yu Yureka Plus to Cyanogen OS 12.1

  • First of all Download Cyanogen OS 12.1 Zip file from above link and transfer the update zip file to your phone’s internal storage via microUSB
  • Now, boot your Yureka into recovery mode. To do so:

Go to Settings -> About phone -> tap on the Build Number seven times to unlock Developer Options. Now go to Settings -> Developer Options -> enable ‘Advanced Reboot’ option. Now long press the power button, select the reboot option and select reboot to recovery option.

  • Now From recovery, select Apply update -> Choose from Internal Storage -> 0/ -> select the zip file you transferred in step 1 above.
  • Once you select the file, the recovery will start flashing the update. When the update completed, you will be back on the main recovery menu.
  • Select the Reboot system now option and wait for the reboot process to complete.
  • The fresh boot will take some time maybe up to 10 min.So don’t panic
  • Once your device booted up check setting for confirmation
  • Now your device is running latest official Cyanogen Os 12.1

  2. Yeah if you’re on another ROM then you will lose your apps and data.Take a proper backup first.I recommend to useTitanium backup to take backup of your apps so that you can easily restore all of your previous apps and data

  3. i had downloaded the update…battery was low…so thought of doing the installation part later on and den forgot abt it…now wen i search for the update it says, my phone is upto date, but still in 5.0.2…cant get 5.1.1 …wad to do ?

    • First take important backup of your data then factory reset it then check for update.If there is any update available in your region then you can update to the latest firmware via OTA.

  4. Is this file having Trebuchet launcher problem after installation? Some installation file after installation not able to use with system default launcher, instead we need to install new once.

  5. Iam using yurekha plus which is running on 4.4.4 .I have v read some reviews who have updated they say that they are having problems such as the gets auto locked and the wallpeper changes to default…so I have decided to install lolipop without cynogen mod …can u say me how can we do that

    • You can install other Lollipop ROM on Yureka plus.Search for Yureka Plus Lollipop ROMs on google.I am sure you will find some good ROMs.Installation process is same.

  6. I got the update but when I checked it few days later the update was gone??? What happened was it for limited time or was some problem there plz tell me …

    • That happens sometimes.We recommend you to reset your device but before that take a proper backup.Otherwise manually flash the Update

  8. @sachidananda If you are getting signature verifications failed error then Install TWRP On your device and Flash the ROM File Via TWRP Recovery Instead of Stock Recovery.

  9. I have a brand new yureka plus running on android KitKat….I want to use cyanogen 12.1…do I have to follow the same steps that have been mentioned in this article ? Also some users reported the device getting hardbricked ! What is it and how to avoid it ?

    • If your phone is new, then i suggest you not do follow this guide as it may void your warrenty.Wait for OTA update. Go to setting–>>about phone–>>system update and check for update
