We have talked about how Samsung has been on a roll lately with the launch of its new smartphones, the S8 and the S8+ and Samsung has also been trying to convince its fans and customers that the phone will get timely updates thanks to the company’s efforts to release the security patches and Android updates from last month. Samsung has sent out latest updates to almost every phone released by the company in 2016. This includes the S7 and S7 edge and the Note 5 of yesteryear as well. This time around, the update is for the Samsung Galaxy J1 Ace. The phone comes in line with other mid-range offerings from Samsung but that doesn’t mean that the phone will be deprived of getting updates.
We are getting some information from the Samsung owners who are using the Samsung Galaxy J1 Neo that Samsung is starting to roll out April security patch to the Galaxy J1 Ace. The update going by software version J111FXXU0AQD2, is being seeded over the air and applies the latest security patch. Though the update is still Android 5.1.1 Lollipop based, it does bring necessary performance tweaks and fixes a few bugs too.
As far as the update is concerned, it is still based on the Android 5.1.1 Marshmallow and the phone has been in line to receive its Nougat update but will Samsung release the update for this phone is debatable and it should be receiving it someday. But for now, the phone is receiving the April security update which is as important as the Android version update as it provides security to the phone. One thing with this update is that it is a staged rollout and the update could come to your phone anytime soon. Make sure to install the update as soon as possible as it is of utmost importance
