Verizon rolling out March security update patch to the Moto Z and Moto Z Force Droid.

We have seen almost all the major devices get updated to the March security patch which was rolled out by Google in the starting of the month of March, March 1, 2017 to be exact. Google has made it mandatory for all the device manufacturers running Android to release the security update patches to their phones as soon as possible. Google also announced the list of device manufacturers and their phones receiving fast security updates and the Moto Z was on the list as well. This list was for Motorola sending the update to their phones but didn’t include the carriers sending updates to Moto Z.

Verizon, one of the biggest U.S carriers has started the update process for the Moto Z Droid and Z Force Droid on its network and the users are receiving a new firmware update. Arriving as over the air (OTA), the update installs the latest monthly Android security patch.

The new firmware network is hitting Verizon Moto Z Droid and Z Force Droid devices as software version NCLS25.86-11-4-6-8 and installs the March security patch. It also brings the usual enhanced device performance and resolves known issues.

The update is a highly recommended one as are all the security updates for Android and is being rolled out gradually. As such, it may take sometime to appear on your device. If you haven’t received the notification for the update yet, then head to Settings > About Device > Software Updates to check for it manually

As with all the updates, one thing that is to be remembered is that make sure to charge your phone above 50% atleast and the update should be downloaded in a consistent network to make sure that all parts of the updates are covered properly to ensure seamless installation process on your Android devices so that no data can be lost in the process.
