Android 12 Expected Devices, Release Date, and Everything we know so far

Starting off the release of Android 10 in September 2019, Google and Android developers have been achieved a lot of things in terms of the UI elements, all-new features, improved privacy, enhanced app permissions, 5G & foldable support, camera & call quality improvements, etc. This year it’s time for the release of Android 11 official stable version in the same quarter. Although the Android 11 Public Beta has been released officially, the stable version is a couple of months away from now. Meanwhile, some of the speculations and leaks are coming out for Android 12 which is expected to arrive next year in 2021.

Android 12: Overview

So, the upcoming Android OS version in next year will be the successor version of this year’s Android 11. The Android 12 will be the 12th iteration of Android OS family that would bring so many AI features and AR-related functionalities. The improved Dark Theme with revamped UI elements, revamped icons, much improved quick shortcut toggles, powerful Google Assistant support that should come with integration option for the stock and third-party apps.

Google’s call screening mode with enhancements, improved camera API, better signal strength, fitness tracking, new gestures support, redesigned lock screen UI, much-improved notification panel with notification history, etc. We can also see some changes in the Pixel launcher and wallpapers section. The newly added quick undo option in the recent menu would be much improved with Android S.

Android 12 Expected Devices

Though it’s so early to mention all the expected device lists, we can assume that all the Pixel series devices will gonna receive this update except for the Pixel 1st & 2nd generation models. While the upcoming Pixel devices or the newly launched Pixel models will surely get the Android 12 update without a second doubt.

While talking about the other OEMs, OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 8 series devices would definitely receive the same. Xiaomi’s some of the newly launched flagship devices like Redmi 9, Redmi 10X, Poco F2, Redmi K30, Redmi Note 9, Mi 10, Mi Note 10 series devices are expected to get the update by the next year or in 2022.

There are some of the latest Vivo devices those would be eligible to receive the update such as Vivo X50 series, Vivo Y70s, Vivo iQOO series, Vivo NEX 3S 5G, Vivo V19, Vivo S6 5G, Vivo Z6 5G, etc.

Oppo devices aren’t that behind and some of the mentioned models can become eligible as well. Oppo Reno4 series, Oppo A92, Oppo Find X2 Neo, Oppo A92s, Oppo Find X2 Lite, Oppo Ace2, Oppo Find X2 Pro, Oppo Find X2, Oppo Reno3 series, etc.

Realme will try to add some of these models for the Realme UI 3.0 update in next year based on Android 12 such as Realme X3 series, Realme X50 Pro, Realme 6S, Narzo 10, etc.

There are a couple of Samsung devices that you can expect to receive the One UI 4.0 update like Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, Samsung Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Tab S6 5G, etc.

Huawei: Huawei P30 Pro, Huawei P40 Lite 5G, Huawei Enjoy Z 5G, Huawei Nova 7 SE / Nova 7 5G / Nova 7 Pro, Huawei Mate Xs, Huawei Nova 6 series, Huawei Mate 30 RS Porsche Design, Huawei Mate 30 Pro series, etc.

Motorola: Motorola Edge+, Motorola Razr 2019, etc.

Android 12 Expected Release Date

According to the previous track records, Google always releases the new Android OS stable version in September every year. This year the company will gonna release the Android 11 stable version. Similarly, the Android 12 would be expected to launch in September next year (2021).

As the Android 11 is in the works and Google is trying to deliver it on time, we can’t say exactly about the 12th iteration right now. We have to wait for the Q1 2021 in order to get the Android 12 Developer Preview Beta.
