April 2021 security update rolling out for Huawei P40 Lite 5G and Mate 40 Pro

Huawei is rolling out a new software update to P40 Lite 5G and Mate 40 Pro. The new update brings security patch released in April 2021 for improved system protection against different kinds of exploits.

Huawei Mate 40 Pro

The April security update for Huawei P40 Lite 5G and Mate 40 Pro is currently rolling out in Europe. It is based on EMUI 10.1 for P40 Lite 5G, while Mate 40 Pro is already updated to the latest EMUI skin, EMUI 11. 

As announced in the bulletin, the April 2021 security patch fixes 17 High levels and 69 Medium levels of CVE’s (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures). This is a minor security patch and does not bring new features, or changes to the user interface.

If you’re a Huawei P40 Lite 5G / Mate 40 Pro user in Europe then you might have already received the update. If you haven’t, then manually check for the update using any of the methods given below.

Via Settings App
  • Open Settings app
  • Go to System & updates -> Software update

  • Then, click on Check for updates
  • Download and install the update.
