This amazing tablet PC is a unique dual OS supporting device which allows users to use both Windows 10 and Android 5.1 Lollipop OS on the device. It is also powered by the fifth-generation Intel Atom Z8300 graphics and the eighth-generation Intel HD graphics along with 4 GB RAM to provide the best usage experience. Here is a review of Chuwi Hi10 2 in 1 tablet PC.
You can currently get the Hi 10 ultrabook PC at a very low $ 170 at Gearbest.Stocks are very limited, so hurry up guys.
The device is powered by Intel’s Atom X5 Z8300, a 2-watt quad core CPU which is capable to boost up to 1.84GHz. Z8300 is the lowest of the Cherry Trail Chips and offer speeds similar to the older Bay Trail Z3735F but it is much better when it comes to graphics and supports things like 4k@30fps HDMI out or USB 3.0 or high-speed microSD card slot. It also has 4 GB RAM of single channel LPDDR3 with 11-11-11-28 timings. However, it is relatively slower than dual channel X5 Z8500 Atom processor’s as seen in other ultrabooks like Teclast.
It is built mostly from plastic, apart from the glass touch panel which is a change from Vi10’s rear panels and tempered glass front. This ultrabook is also lighter when compared to Vi10. Vi10 weighs 647 grams as compared to the 528 grams of Hi10. Though it doesn’t feel as solid in hand like other tablets and the rear is textured plastic which can be prone to smudges and fingerprints.
Screen and touch:
Chuwi Hi10 has a 10.1-inch 1920 x 1200 pixel 16:10 ratio screen. The ratio of the screen provides a slightly squarer screen when compared to the 10.6-inch Vi10 panel and the increase of resolution is very noticeable. It is sharp, bright and one of the key features of this tablet PC. The maximum screen brightness of the screen is 322 cd/m2 and it is brighter than most of the tablets around. The 0% brightness of the device is as low as 12 cd/m2 making it a good choice for night read.
The storage is handled by a Hynix HCG8e 64GB eMMC ROM. It is a good brand of eMMC and it is a relief to see Chuwi to finally use it for this model over the slow and cheaper alternatives such as Bwin, Forsee etc.
Battery life and charging:
The device has an 8000mAh battery which is the same as that of Vi10. With the brightness set at 50% brightness, Wi-Fi switched on and internet used sparingly and few videos being watched, the device managed to rack up to 7 hours of run time. Running the device with a low brightness and on airplane mode, the device can be run for 9-10 hours easily.
It takes approximately 3.5 hours to completely charge the tablet when the tablet is powered off. There is a slight issue with the stock charger and the device isn’t getting charged when in use.
