Download/Install AOSP Android 11 for Xiaomi Mi 9

Here in this tutorial, we’ll be sharing the easy guide on how to download and install the AOSP Android 11 firmware for your Xiaomi Mi 9 device. Last month, Google has released the much-awaited Android 11 OS which is a successor version of Android 10. Now, more and more custom firmware developers are working hard to build their respective aftermarket ROM for the bunch of Android device models. There is good news for all the Xiaomi Mi 9 users as they can now easily get and install the AOSP firmware on their devices based on Android 11.

It’s also notable that AOSP (Android Open Source Project) firmware comes with the latest Android OS version along with multiple features, customization options, and more. But the Custom ROM always comes with multiple bugs, stability issues, lacks official OTA firmware updates, lacks the latest security patch updates over the timespan, and more. So, if in case, you’re one of the heavy users and works a lot with your smartphone, we won’t recommend using this firmware as your daily driver on your primary handset.

Now, you may ask what is the actual name of this AOSP Android 11 firmware? So, it called Fluid 1.0 OS. It’s based on Android 11 AOSP ROM that works really well in terms of performance or features. Currently, the firmware is in the beta testing phase which will be getting better in the future until stable version releases. It’s the latest edition of popular firmware like CarbonROM and RevengeOS.

The installation is pretty simple and easy. If you have installed any custom ROM before then you will have no issue flashing the ROM as the process is exactly the same. But before proceeding to the installation let me clear that this build is in the very early stage which means there will be bugs and many functions may not work properly. So, we do recommend not to flash the ROM on your primary device. Thanks to the XDA member Dyrex2004 for sharing this build.
