  1. Hello again,

I have tried both tutorials and I cant get past step one with LGUP. It says unknown device and I was sure to get the correct driver from LG. I tried both versions of LGUP with no success. I am also using official LG USB cable as well. Any idea why I am still having such a hard time? Root still evades me and I am getting very frustrated by it. I see that others were able to accomplish it but yet I can get anywhere with it. What am I missing?

    Thank you,
    Alan

      • Hi,

I did follow the steps listed and I did do some more research regarding the software and my model. According to what I found, LGUP only supports LG 855 (are they wrong?). Other than that, for my model specifically; numerous other people have the same issue as I do. I know I can follow the remaining steps, if only I could get past step one and get the program to recognize my vs985. I am so close to root but yet so far away. 🙁

  2. Anyone know if this can fix my brick Nexus 5X. I made the most dumb mistake by accidently flash bootloader of Nexus 5 into Nexus 5X. this may be my last hope because LG did not support Nexus 5X where I live.
