Google has released the first Public Beta of Android 11 (R) in June 2020 after delaying multiple times due to the pandemic outbreak in all over the world. Recently, the Android 11 Public Beta 2 build has been released with more improvements and changes. Although the public beta and developer beta builds are meant to be testing purposes only and may not be stable enough to use it as a daily driver in most cases.

Steps to Install OnePlus 8 & 8 Pro Android 11 Beta 2 Update

We assume that you’ve already downloaded the firmware according to your model. Make sure to follow the pre-requirements at first.

Pre-Requisites:

  • Follow the below Guide Exactly or else it may lead to brick your device. RootMyGalaxy.net is not responsible for any damage.
  • Maintain a 50%-50% battery to prevent sudden shut down between the process.
  • This Update is only for OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro users.
  • Take a complete backup of your phone and then proceed.
  • The OnePlus 8 series carrier devices (TMO/VZW) aren’t compatible with the Developer Preview builds.
  • Make sure to have at least 3GB of free storage space.

MP version = Stable official version
DP version = Developer Preview version
OBT Version = Open Beta version

Stable & Open Beta to Developer Beta Guide: (LOCAL UPGRADE)

  1. Download the latest ROM upgrade zip package.
  2. Copy the ROM upgrade package to the phone storage.
  3. Go to device Settings -> System -> System Updates -> Tap on top right icon -> Local upgrade -> Tap on the downloaded firmware package -> Upgrade -> System upgrade completed to 100%.
  4. After the upgrade is complete, Tap on Restart.
  5. Update successful.​

Developer Beta to Stable Rollback: (LOCAL UPGRADE)

  1. Download the latest ROM upgrade zip package.
  2. You can copy the Rollback package to the phone storage.
  3. Go to device Settings -> System -> System Updates -> Tap on top right icon -> Local upgrade -> Tap on the corresponding installation package -> Upgrade -> System upgrade completed to 100%.
  4. After the upgrade is complete, tap on Restart.
  5. Update successful.​

If in case, you don’t find the Android 11 DP2 version that useful or even if you don’t like it, then you can always go back to the stable Android 10 (OxygenOS 10) by downloading the respective firmware according to your variant below.
