Essential Phone Gets January Security Patch OTA Update (NMJ88C): Essential phones are now getting January security patch upgrade Over the air (OTA). The firmware is now available worldwide for essential phones, so your essential phone may be getting this update notification shortly.

Essential has released this update for their variant PH-1. The updated firmware has a build number NMJ88C which is based on Android Nougat which means there is no update on the OS. Since the update is very useful for the essential PH-1 users that’s why we recommend you to install it as soon as possible. Essential Phone January Security Patch

Essential has never failed to keep their device up to date and this time also they have released the January 2018 security patch for their device earlier than any other company except Google as Google has also released December security patch for their pixel variants. Essential PH-1 is the first device to get the December security patch update through OTA, but you can install this update manually on your phone with the help of stock recovery.

This new security patch comes not only with January security patch but also it fixed the Specture and meltdown issues.
