Facebook’s Oculus Quest 2 VR clears Bluetooth SIG certification

Oculus Quest 2 is a successor of Facebook’s Oculus Quest which was launched back in 2019. The new Quest 2 VR headset is more powerful and has a better display. The headset with model number KW49CM now appears on Bluetooth SIG certification. It does not much details other than the Bluetooth 5.1 standard.

The Oculus Quest 2 VR headset is launching on October 13 and currently available for pre-order through the official website. The 64GB storage variant is available for pre-order for $299 (approx Rs 22,000) while the 256GB variant costs $399 (approx Rs 29,300). The new headset features 50% more pixels than it’s predecessor and a 90Hz smooth refresh rate. However, the device initially runs a 75Hz refresh rate but later on, it will increase to 90Hz through a software update.

The Quest 2 screen resolution is 1832 x 1920 pixels per eye which is much higher than 1440 x 1600 pixels in its predecessor. The lenses have three set positions to adjust the interpupillary distance (IPD). It has built-in stereo speakers and a 3.5mm audio jack to use the headphones or earbuds.
