Method 1: Run the game as an admin

Method 2: Disable NVIDIA highlights from in-game settings

Method 3: Disable V-sync from the Modern Warfare settings

Method 4: Disable in-game overlay from the NVIDIA GeForce Application
The in-game overlay option in the NVIDIA GeForce Experience application is enabled by default. Use the following steps for disabling it –

- Launch the NVIDIA GeForce Experience desktop client
- Head over to the Settings icon at the top
- In the “General” tab, you’ll find the “In-game overlay” switch, which you should turn off
- Save the configuration before closing the app
- Restart your PC
Method 5: Close any unwanted programs when running the game
- Right-click the taskbar before selecting “Task Manager” and you’ll get a list of programs running
- Right-click the unwanted program and then select “End task”
- Now, do the same thing for all the unnecessary programs on this list
- Try to run the game now
Method 6: Turn off the Discord overlay
With Discord Overlay, you’ll be able to text and voice chat when playing a game. If the game is crashing, you should try to play the game by disabling the Discord overlay.
- Open Discord
- At the bottom of the screen, you should select the Settings cogwheel icon next to the username
- From the left pane, you should over to “Game Overlay”
- Switch off “Enable in-game overlay”
- Restart your PC
