G9600ZHS7ETH1: Galaxy S9 garbs August Security In South America

The 2018 Flagship,  Samsung Galaxy S9 (SM-G9600) has started getting the G9600ZHS7ETH1 August 2020 security patch update in the South American region. It is based on Google’s Android 10.

As we mentioned it above the update brings the latest security patch update which was released by Google in August Security. Most of the security vulnerabilities have been addressed. It also brings some bug fixes which were available in the previous build. Thus, you should download and install the update to your Samsung Galaxy S9 which will come as an OTA update to your phone.

You can manually check for the update from Settings > Software update >Download updates manually. If there is no update showing on your device, then wait for few days for the update to come to your device as it is being released phase-wise manner or you can manually flash the full firmware using Odin Flash Tool.

If the update has not been on your device’s system update section, then just wait for few more days for the update to come, else you can manually download and flash the G9600ZHS7ETH1 August 2020 Security Patch on Galaxy S9 using Odin by following our guide.

Installation Guide (Manual Flashing using Odin)

  1. First, download the firmware file from the download section above
  2. Now Enter the recovery mode on your device, then follow the linked guide below to Install Security Patch Update On your Galaxy device
  3. If you want to sideload the OTA then follow the guide below
  4. If you want to Install the Full Firmware File then follow the guide given below (Odin Method)

If the installation is successful, you will see the message Pass in the Log Tab.

Note:Before installing the updates, make sure your device is connected to a good wifi and your device has more than 50 percent battery life remaining

  1. After installing this update the screen went black with green tint and device became unusable. There is a flaw/bug in this update from Samsung.

    The model I have is S9 SM-GS900 ( 2018 ) MODEL.

    Samsung support is of no help over phone, chat. They ask us to go to service center but during this covid situation it is difficult.

    If there is any solution let me know to go back to previous version before this patch.
    Now after reducing brightness to less than 5% or 100% am able to see a little bit the screen is unusable in this mode and it is becoming difficult if by mistake it restarts as it is all black and we have to imagine we are entering the right place for the Security key.

    Tried safe mode but no luck either.
