Samsung Galaxy A12 and Galaxy Note 9 are the latest phones from the brand to receive the February 2022 security patch. The Galaxy A12 came last year but the Galaxy Note 9 has already completed its four-year anniversary. It’s good to see such long software support for any device.
The latest software update for Samsung Galaxy A12 brings the February 2022 security patch. It includes fixes for numerous vulnerabilities resulting in improved system security and privacy. The update is currently rolling out on the Verizon carrier in the US with the firmware version A125USQS3BVB2.
Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is receiving its latest software update in various Asian and European countries. The update can be identified by the firmware version N960FXXS9FVB1. The February 2022 security patch for Samsung phones fixes over 60 vulnerabilities.
If you’re a Galaxy A12 or Galaxy Note 9 user in any of the above-specified regions, you might have already received the February update. Those who have not received it yet can manually check for new updates via Settings >> Software updates.
Samsung Galaxy A12 was launched with Android 10 out of the box. It has already received Android 11 as its first major OS upgrade and is also eligible for the Android 12 update. Galaxy Note 9, on the other hand, has already received all the promised OS updates, and we don’t know, for how long, Samsung will continue to provide security patch updates.
