Galaxy S8 gets Android Oreo beta 3 OTA update with G950FXXU1ZQKG firmware

Samsung Galaxy S8 has started receiving Android Oreo beta 3 OTA update with G950FXXU1ZQKG firmware: Samsung Galaxy S8 was released by Samsung earlier this year which was the flagship smartphone from the company in 2017. This smartphone was also backed up by the Galaxy S8 Plus which was released alongside the smartphone. Also, we have known that Galaxy S8 came with a smaller display and a smaller battery which were the only differences in the smartphones. Otherwise, both the smartphone had the same design and also the same camera setup on the front and the back. On the other hand, the Galaxy S8 was also released with Android 7.0 Nougat along with TouchWiz UI which is Samsung’s custom skin of Android.

Now, we have just known that Samsung Galaxy S8 has updated to Android 7.1.1 Nougat and there is now an update to Android 8.0 Oreo which is the latest version of Android that was released by Google earlier this year. Now, the smartphone from Samsung getting the Android Oreo update is in the form of the beta version and this update will come to the users with Samsung Galaxy S8 who opt into beta testing this latest update. Do note that there are risks involved in using a beta software on your daily driver device so you should proceed only if you understand the risks involved.

Now, the Galaxy S8 is getting Android Oreo beta 3 update with build number G950FXXU1ZQKG and this update has 623MB download size which is considerably big in size and you should download this update on WiFi network as you may incur charges on Cellular data as there would be additional data that might be used in downloading the update.

You can manually check for the update from Settings > Software update >Download updates manually.If there is no update showing on your device, then wait for few days for the update to come to your device.

Also, the update comes with November 2017 security patch which is the latest security patch released by Google at the beginning of the month of November and it comes with additional security improvements and other security-related fixes.
