Google has announced that it will be rolling out the June 2023 update for its Android 14 beta program. This update will bring the upcoming OS to a milestone called Platform Stability. This means that the latest version of Android is almost complete, with only bug fixes and minor alterations needed before the final launch.
The Android 14 Beta 3 update has been made available for supported Pixel smartphones, including the newly launched Google Pixel 7a. All the users who have enrolled into beta test program should be able to get the update via an OTA.
If you own a compatible Pixel smartphone, you can install the Android 14 Beta 3 update. If you’re not sure how, then this guide will be helpful to you.
What does the new Android 14 Beta update bring?
As per Google’s latest announcement, there aren’t a lot of new features. The previous updates brought forth features like non-linear font scaling, data safety updates, partial permissions for photos and videos, and more. However, the new update only brings new bug fixes and minor alterations.
This new update is more of a line in the sand for Google as the developers have all the APIs and information needed to make sure the apps are compatible with the upcoming stable launch of the Android 14 OS. There will be numerous bug fixes and improvements until then but there won’t be new APIs to learn.
Google is expected to launch the Android 14 stable version in August based on the Android 14 timeline. However, it is possible that the launch might come later or even a few weeks earlier depending on how the fourth beta launch pans out in July.
