Honor 9i users have started getting the official May 2020 security patch update via OTA (over-the-air). The update is currently being rolled out in a phased manner in some regions, so it may take a few days to reach all Honor 9i devices. The update is only compatible with Honor 9i model number LLD-AL20 & LLD-AL30.
The update brings the software version number 9.1.0.141. As it is an incremental update, the OTA size is very small weighing in at just 624 MB. The update will bump the software version from EMUI 9.1.0.125 to 9.1.0.141
The EMUI 9.1.0.141 update mainly focuses on the security of the device. It adds a smart charging function to the device. It brings the latest security patch as well as improves software optimization of the device. If you are Honor 9i user, then we highly recommend you to update your device.

Meanwhile, you can manually check for the update. If you own the device, you can manually check for the update, Go to System > Software /System update > Check for updates. or open HiCare app > Update > Check for updates.
Activate Smart Charge
Go to Settings > Battery > More battery settings > Smart Charge.
