One our readers, named Jeroen has shared some information. Tidal HiFi Plus, Galaxy S23 phone, and Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds all support the LDAC audio codec. LDAC provides better quality than the default AAC codec. However, LDAC is not automatically selected and needs to be manually switched on. Switching from AAC to LDAC improved audio quality and listening experience with this setup using Tidal HiFi Plus, Galaxy S23, and Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds. How to fix LDAC Codec Not Working on Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

  • First, you must go to Settings -> About Phone -> Software Information
  • After that, tap on Build Number 7 times to enable Developer Options
  • Now, head over to Settings -> General -> Developer options -> Bluetooth Audio Codec and then choose LDAC from the list
  • Once it is done, you should go to Settings -> Connections -> Bluetooth -> Headphone Name
  • After that, enable the toggle beside LDAC from there
  • If your headphone comes with an associated app, you should ensure that you enable LDAC from there too

  1. This solution worked for me, thanks for sharing. I use tidal hifi plus and a galaxy s23 combined with wf-1000xm5, both LDAC ready. I just found out that LDAC wasn’t selected, although I have also a wf-1000xm4 and never looked to the codec it was using. Strange that the better LDAC codec is not selected by default and AAC is. Anyway, thanks again ;-).
