Apple has now released the 5th beta of iOS 16 and iPadOS 16. Soon the public beta update will be made available. The beta update came in a day early than anticipated. The public release of iOS 16 is scheduled for the following month, in September. The latest beta versions of iOS 16 and iPad OS 16 have been released, so let’s check out their changes.
Apple has released not just iOS 16 Beta 5 and iPadOS 16 Beta 5, but also watchOS 9.0 Dev Beta 5, macOS 13 Ventura Dev Beta 5, and tvOS 16 Beta 5. iPadOS 16 Beta 5 and iOS 16 Beta 5 both use the same version number of 20A5339d for their codebases. The final d indicates progress toward a release of a stable build.
More and more bugs are being ironed out with each beta release of iOS 16, and the final product is almost there. Since most of the key issues have been resolved, customers can also try the new beta builds on their primary devices. The beta was made available to developers first, as is customary, and then to the general public.
The latest beta adds a toggle to show the battery percentage on notched iPhones barring the smaller mini iPhones. There are many other features added to this new beta build which you can find on the changelog.
Developers can now download iOS 16 Beta 5. The public beta could arrive in as little as a day, or it could take a bit longer. In case you’re still using iOS 16 Dev Beta 4, you can update your iPhone by going to Settings > General > Software Update. You should always back up critical data before installing any updates.
