The first quarter of the year was very bad compared to previous years due to the pandemic. Now an independent analyst and consultancy Omdia has released a data which shows that iPhone 11 was the most popular smartphone in the Q1 of 2020.

According to the Omdia Smartphone Model Market Tracker, Apple shipped around 19.5 million iPhone 11s during the period from January through March and this achievement is huge considering the fact that the world was going through a very tough time.

Hong, Director of Smartphone Research at Omdia said and I Quote “For more than five years—even amid shifting conditions in the wireless market and the global economy—one thing has remained consistent in the smartphone business: Apple has taken either the first or second rank in Omdia’s global model shipment ranking,”

The second most popular smartphone of the Q1, 2020 is the Samsung Mid-range king, Galaxy A51 which was sold 6.8 million units. The third and fourth position is taken by Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro, with 6.6 million units and 6.1 million units shipped.

Last year’s best selling smartphone iPhone XR managed to get the 5th place with 4.7 million units sold in Q1, 2020. This is worth mentioning that iPhone XR is more popular than the current Apple Flagships iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max, at least the data shows that.
