Lenovo ZUK Z2 Review: Lenovo’s best smartphone ever? ($248)

Lenovo is one of the most well-established brands in Western Europe largely due to its PC brand which counts the legendary ThinkPad range as well as the German Manufacturer Medion amongst its ranks. Lenovo has also taken over the storage vendor Iomega, NEC Personal computer range and IBM’s Intel-based server business.
Lenovo has also acquired Motorola, an iconic phone manufacturer brand which carries a lot of value for the mainstream audience. But the latest move of this company is a rather surprising one as it has launched a division called Zuk. It is a Chinese-only brand which aims to compete with the like of Xiaomi, Honor (a subsidiary of Huawei) and OnePlus (a subsidiary of Oppo).

Lenovo ZUK Z2 Short Review For Consumers (With the best deal)

Lenovo ZUK Z2 uses the same design as used by most of the other premium models. It has a feel of iPhone 5 about it as it has an entirely black finish. It also sports lean lines and minimalist design along with dual 2.5D arc glass front.
The front fascia of the phone contains the speaker, a front facing camera and also a physical home button which hides a few tricks. Below that is the headset input, the USB type C connector ,and a speaker grill. Its side also contains the power button, SIM card holder, and the volume rocker button.
However, there is no micro SD carl slot as the phone comes with 64 GB storage capacity by default. It comes with two nano SIM card slots, as it supports dual SIM dual standby feature. At the back of the device is a small ZUK logo, a single flash and camera sensor.

It has a smaller than average 5-inch display with full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It products clear and sharp images.

Lenovo ZUK Z2 Display Review

CPU and Performance

Unlike most of its competitors which use Mediatek chip, ZUK Z2 has opted to use a Qualcomm one; the Snapdragon 820 which is an excellent processor which runs four cores and clocks in at 2.2GHz. It is also coupled with Adreno 530 GPU and 4 GB RAM which is more than enough for any smartphone. It provides this device impressive efficiency and allows the user to multitask smoothly without any lag problems. It also comes with 64 GB internal storage which cannot be exceeded as it lacks the micro SD card required for increasing the storage capacity.

Camera and other features

Lenovo ZUK Z2 features an 8 MP front camera for clicking high quality selfies and for video chatting with close friends and family. It also comes with a 13 MP rear camera for capturing all the memorable moments spent with family. The rear camera is capable of shooting at 4K.
This smartphone also comes with a USB type C cable and tiny adaptor with a Chinese plug which helps deliver far more efficient charging than your average charger. It is rated 2.5A at 5.3V or 13.25W meaning it produces almost a one third more charging than your average mobile power adaptor.
It comes with the facility of dual SIM dual standby and supports 2G, 3G as well as the latest 4G network.

Lenovo ZUK Z2 is far from perfect but it is still an impressive model with some exceptional features. It has an excellent design along with a really impressive screen. It has abundance of RAM and ROM storage however it lacks the micro SD card slot. Its camera is excellent but it lacks in the sound compartment. It has an excellent battery which lasts for a long time. This is a good device which will surely satisfy the needs of most of the people.
