LG G8s ThinQ launched in India with Snapdragon 855 SoC, and more

The South Korean electronics brand LG has launched a new G-series smartphone called LG G8s ThinQ in India. The handset comes with a bunch of new features which includes Hand ID to unlock the screen by identifying the pattern of hand veins of users. The authentication process is done by infrared light for more accurate and fast identification.

Additionally, the handset also supports touchless-hand gestures called Air Motion. It’s powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 855 SoC chipset, a MIL-STD 810G-certified build quality, an IP68 dust & water resistance certification. The display has a Full-HD+ resolution, features a ToF Z Camera, Quick Charge 3.0, AI Face Unlock option, and more.

The G8s ThinQ runs on Android 9 Pie and comes with a 6.2-inches Full-HD+ display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio along with 1080×2248 pixels resolution quality. It’s powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage option.

It has a triple rear camera setup of a 12MP primary camera with an f/1.8 lens, a secondary 13MP wide-angle sensor with a 137-degree field-of-view, and a 12MP telephoto lens with an f/2.6 lens. The front features an 8MP selfie sensor accompanied by a ToF Z camera which offers Hand ID, Air Motion, and Face Unlock for authentication.

The handset packs a 3,550 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support. It has dimensions of 55.3×76.6×7.99mm and measures 181 grams. In terms of the connectivity options, it includes Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB Type-C port, and more.
