Moto G4 Plus latest Android phone Specification, features & review: Ever since the launch of the first smartphone, the smartphone market has always been competitive as well as sensitive at the same time. Competitive in terms of making a profit and sensitive to the ever growing requirements of the consumer. Despite the makers being wary of this fact, we hardly find suitable phones, fitting our needs and pocket! Even if certain budget phones exist, the availability in the market is a pressing issue for the customers. But with the recent launch of Moto G4 Plus by Motorola, we might just seem to have found a decently budgeted phone offering us features equivalent to the price we pay.
Motorola launched 3 variants in its fourth generation series; Moto G4 Plus, Moto G4, and Moto G Play. While Moto G4 plus was launched by Motorola on 17th May 2016 in New Delhi, Moto G4, the lower end variant of the Fourth Generations series, is not yet available in the market. The third version, Moto GPlay, has also been launched by the company but, as for now, is not available in India.
Price: A decently priced budget phone, the 32 GB variant stands at Rs. 14,999 and the 16GB for Rs. 13,499.
Availability: Moto G4 Plus can be purchased online exclusively from Amazon India.

The Moto G4 Plus Experience:-
The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS based Motorola Moto G4 Plus is powered by Qualcomm 617 Snapdragon processor. The RAM size may vary depending on the variant chosen. Bearing a 5.5-inch Full-HD display and Corning Gorilla Glass 3, the device gives a color rich experience to the eyes. The fingerprint sensor is featured at the bottom of the device on the ‘home button’. The dual-SIM smartphone has a separate memory card reader slot and has a 16 MP primary camera and a 5 MP secondary camera.
General Features and Accessories:-
Moto G4 Plus weighs 155 grams. The device is available in two different base colors, black and white. The SAR value is kept at 1.09. The dual 4G SIM feature gives the user the feature of ‘Intelligent Calling’ thereby gives a high degree of flexibility.
The in-box accessories include a set of earphones and a turbocharger.
Design and Feel:-
The device has a rounded metal frame body along with rubber back cover ensures a firm grip. The back of the device is rather flat compared to the predecessors having the curvy backs. The comparative slim and light structure make it easy for the user to carry it. The side panel has volume up-down button and has a power button.
Motorola has considerably downgraded its quality standards by keeping the Moto G4 Plus water resistant. The predecessor Moto G3 was waterproof and had IP67 certification, a feature which Moto G4 Plus lacks in.
Moto G4 Plus Display:
The display is bigger and is scaled at 5.5 inches with Full-HD (1080x 1920 pixels) and 401 PPI pixel density. The sunlight readability of the screen is extremely improved. The Gorilla glass ensures sufficient protection owing to rough handling of the device. Powerful graphics support a rich texture of images.
Camera and Video:
The 16 MP primary camera comes with Phase Detection AutoFocus(PDAF) and Laser AutoFocus along with a dual-LED flash. The primary camera stuns the user by its daylight performance. The low light performance has been significantly improved yet doesn’t provide the user with satisfactory results. On the other hand, the 5 MP secondary camera is an improved version and comes with the feature of Wide Angle View. The Professional Mode provides greater control to the user.
The videos can be recorded at a rich quality of 1080p (30fps).
Turbo Charging and Battery:-
The device comes with a non-removable 3000mAh battery. The powerful battery assures the users to last throughout the day without having to worry about charging the battery. To add more, Turbocharging gives the user the facility of quick charging. If ever the user stumbles upon a situation where the battery levels have fallen miserably, turbocharging is the rescue. The battery can be charged for up to 6 hours in merely 15 minutes.
Moto G4 Plus is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 Processor. The blazing fast processor creates room for high-end gaming and multitasking without slowing down the device. The RAM available is 2GB (for 16GB version) and 3 GB (for 32 GB version). There is also the presence of a dedicated memory storage slot. The memory can be expanded up to 128 GB. The device also comes with Moto Actions which supports and responds to motions and gestures.
Finger Print Scanner and other sensors:-
The fingerprint scanner is one of the special features of the Moto G series. A touch of your finger unlocks the device. Motorola claims the recognition of the user’s unique fingerprint no matter how they hold it under time span of 750 milliseconds.
The device also has the inclusion of sensors like accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor and ambient light.

Moto G4 Plus is a smart innovative addition into the budget section for smartphones. One of its first kind in the G Series to debut with fingerprint scanning, the device seems quite promising on various fronts like performance and durability.
Lack of IP67 certification and a modular charger is a letdown. The camera could have been better to avoid the grainy nature of low light images. Minimal heating is present but that is not an issue until it continues for a longer duration.
Overall, Moto G4 Plus is a decent buy for users wanting a Smartphone with great features under Rs. 15,000. It is a ‘Value for money’ buy for people having a busy life and a heavy use. A decently budgeted phone. Isn’t that what we all look for?
