Nokia G11 Plus gets a major software boost with stable Android 13 rollout

HMD Global, the company behind Nokia smartphones, has been busy rolling out the new Android 13 upgrade to eligible devices. The Nokia G11 Plus has recently been added to the list of handsets that can use the newest Android OS upgrade.

The Android 13 update for the Nokia G11 Plus has a software version number of V2.420 and is the first major software upgrade for this G-series phone. The update weighs around 2.40GB in size and is currently rolling out in a phased manner. It has so far only been made available in India, but a wider release is shortly anticipated.

According to NokiaPowerUser, the update comes with the April 2023 monthly security patch and several new features. These include Material You support for third-party app icons, improved quick settings and notification layout, improved digital wellbeing, clipboard history improvements, and per-app language preference.

The ability to modify your phone’s theme and app icons to reflect your particular style is one of the major enhancements in the Android 13 upgrade. You can set more apps than just Google apps to match your phone’s wallpaper tint and colors. In addition, a new photo picker tool lets you choose just the pictures and videos you wish to share with specific apps.

Another major change is the introduction of notification permissions. With Android 13, apps now require your permission to send notifications, giving you greater control over your time and attention span. The update also includes a new media player that puts album artwork on full display and features a dancing playback bar.

The OTA notification for the Android 13 update may have already been sent to Nokia G11 Plus owners. If not, manually check for the update by going to Settings > System > System Update. You might have to wait a few days if the update is not yet accessible.

It is critical to remember that before updating your phone, you should make sure it is at least 50% charged and that all crucial data has been saved. With the new Android 13 update, Nokia G11 Plus users can expect a range of new features and improvements to enhance their smartphone experience.
