Onda OBook 20 Plus Review: A unique tablet with excellent performance

There is a variety of Windows 10 tablets which are packed with decent specifications. The same can also be said for Android tablets. However, these two operating systems fail to satisfy the customers separately. So in some of the devices the dual boot feature is used and it is quite justified. Of course there will be some or the other technical issues related to the compatibility but the latest masterpiece by Onda; Onda OBook 20 Plus is one of the few to have successfully solved this problem.

Onda OBook 20 Plus Review: A unique tablet with excellent performance

Onda Obook 20 Plus Review

Hardware and design

Onda OBook 20 Plus has a unique design and doesn’t look similar to other products. The only tablet which looks slightly similar is Asus Tablet EEE pad Transformer Infinity as they have the same disjunctive line on top of the back cover but the overall back cover looks similar to Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx. Both of these manufacturers were the first ones to start cutting off the edges making the tablets look slimmer.

Its front side is also not similar to any other tablets as well. When looking more attentively, you can see its corners are not so much rounded as other products from the similar category. The distance is also not so much in between the product’s edges. This gives you access to more area when holding the tablets with two hands.

The front camera is located above the screen but it is slightly towards the right. There is no home button on the tablet, meaning the manufacturer has decided to go with a buttonless and minimalistic design. The volume buttons and the unlock buttons are placed on the top. It also has DC jack, micro USB and micro HDMI slots as well as 3.5mm audio jack on the right side of the device.

Display and Screen

Onda OBook 20 Plus belongs to the category of 10-inch+ tablets and has a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. This 10.1-inch IPS touchscreen has a WUXGA type which is quite surprising as WUXGA (Widescreen Ultra Extended Graphics Array) is used for a 16:10 screen aspect ratio but HDTV is usually displayed on screens with 16:9 aspect ratio. Its IPS technology also gets you 178-degrees of viewing angles which is a huge relief for those who have suffered a lot through LCD screens.

CPU and Performance

This amazing tablet is powered with Intel Cherry Trail Z8300 Quad-Core processor which is clocked at 1.44GHz and can be boosted up to 1.84GHz. The CPU has 64bit architecture and was launched last year. The same processor is used in devices like Onda V80 Plus, Teclast X98 Plus, Gole 1 Mini PC and more. This CPU has become quite popular among Chinese tablets and can be found in lot of devices.
It also comes equipped with Intel HD Graphic Gen8 GPU which is optimized to use less power. There is also 4 GB LPDDR3 RAM which allows you advanced multitasking without any lags or stoppages. It also comes with a 64 GB eMMC ROM storage capacity which can further be extended to 256 GB using TF card.

Other features

The device comes with the latest Microsoft Windows 10 Home edition as well as Android 5.1 Lollipop OS pre-installed with latest versions of important software.
The tablet also sports a 2 MP front camera which lets you video chat on Skype with your close ones as well as take wonderful selfies to cherish memorable moments later.

Finally, it comes packed with a 6000mAh battery which usually gives 4-5 hours of usage.

GearBest Video Review:

This is a really stylish and unique tablet with an attractive design. The screen and display might not be up to the mark but its CPU, GPU and storage capacity makes up for it. Its dual boot option is surely the selling point of this device. So it can be concluded that this is a decent device with a good specs list.

This amazing tablet can be purchased on GearBest at just $172.92 after a hefty discount of 48%.Buy it Now
