OxygenOS update for OnePlus Nord CE 5G brings May 2021 security patch and camera improvements

OnePlus Nord CE 5G or Core Edition is receiving its first software update that brings May 2021 security patch, several optimizations, and bug fixing. It is rolling out with software version OxygenOS for the Nord CE 5G users in India. The smartphone was recently launched as the company’s latest affordable 5G phone for Indian and European markets starting at just INR 22,999/€299.

In addition to May security patch, the new OxygenOS update brings a couple of improvements to the default Camera app including – portrait photography improvements of the front camera, white balance consistency improvement for the rear camera, and also improves image detailing of the rear camera. There’s is also an improvement to screen color accuracy for better viewability. Several other issues are also getting fixed and stability has been improved in the OxygenOS update.

OnePlus is yet to announce the OxygenOS update for OnePlus Nord CE 5G on its forum. But, users in India have started receiving. As usual, the update should be rolling out in a phased manner. But, the announcement regarding broader rollout will be confirmed via forum post. To manually check for the latest update on your OnePlus phone, navigate to Settings > System > System updates
