Oppo set to release Android 7.1.1 Update for F3 Plus soon

Recently, Oppo launched its latest flagship smartphone, the F3 Plus and it became an instant hit in the Indian smartphone market. Now, it looks like Oppo is trying to push the latest 7.1.1 Nougat update to it directly while skipping the 7.0 version. The move comes as a surprise as most companies never skip the updates, unlike Oppo who is directly going to the latest one.

The F3 Plus, which carries the model number R6051 was spotted on the website GFXBench and was running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. This has turned the rumour mill upside down and has given rise to many reports which have mentioned that Oppo’s F3 Plus would receive the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update directly.

Oppo has labelled this flagship device with a tag of “Selfie Expert” since it features an amazing dual camera setup (16 MP + 8 MP sensors) at the front while a 16 MP Sony IMX398 sensor along with dual-tone LED flash at the rear side of the phone.

Not only does it have an amazing camera setup, it also comes with a massive 6.0-inch display screen which has a full HD resolution and a layer of 2.5D curved glass while also having Corning Gorilla Glass 5 running atop. It comes equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 653 and is paired with 4 GB of RAM and a massive 64 GB expandable storage space. On top of that, it comes with a 4,000mAh battery which has the support for VOOC flash charge which makes this device a complete package with an amazing list of specifications.

Oppo F3 Plus was only available for purchase through pre-orders via Flipkart and it came with Android 6.0 Marshmallow but with its official launch date April 1, on which it will go on sale in India approaching fast, it seems very likely that all the F3 Plus users will soon be receiving their Nougat updates pretty soon.

  1. No they wouldn’t.. the GFXbenchmark was not about the genuine Nougat update but a Nougat 7.1.1 based LineageOS custom ROM. So to all the Oppo users.. You are never going to get the Nougat update… Sorry for being the bearer of bad news..
