OxygenOS 10.5.3 update is now live for OnePlus Nord [OTA downloads]

It has been a couple of days since the release of OnePlus Nord, but the company has already provided two incremental updates to the device. As per some reports, today the OnePlus Nord has started receiving an update with the same July 2020 security patch.  The latest update brings OxygenOS 10.5.3 to the device

If you remember, just a few days ago, OnePlus Nord received OxygenOS 10.5.2 which brought the July 2020 security patch as well as many bug fixes to the device. The latest OxygenOS 10.5.3 is a refined version of the previous update.

Currently, the latest update is available in India, North America, and Europe. The update improves the system stability, fixes some bugs and promises to provide better performance.

Now, talking about the latest OxygenOS 10.5.3 update, it brings July 2020 Android Security Patch, Updated GMS (Google Mobile Services) package to May 2020, multiple bug fixes, system optimizations, and more. Check out the full update changelog below.

Check Software Updates (OTA)

As the firmware OTA update is rolling out in a gradual way and it may take a couple of days to hit the surface for all the variants, if you don’t want to wait further, you can either manually check for the OTA update via the device Settings > System Updates > Check for OTA updates or via the Local Upgrade method by following the guide below. Keep in mind to charge your handset before performing the software update and for the OTA update method, connect your device to a Wi-Fi or mobile data.

Steps to Install OxygenOS Update

Now, if in case, the update notification hasn’t arrived yet on your handset, then you should manually update the latest firmware by following the steps below.

Local Upgrade Method:

1. Download the latest ROM upgrade zip package.
2. Copy the ROM upgrade package to the phone storage.
3. Go to device Settings -> System -> System Updates -> Tap on top right icon -> Local upgrade -> Tap on the downloaded firmware package -> Upgrade -> System upgrade completed to 100%.
4. After the upgrade is complete, Tap on Restart.
5. Update successful.​
