Redmi Note 8 Pro finally gets Android 11 update with MIUI 12.5 skin

Redmi Note 8 Pro users have waited much longer than expected to receive stable Android 11 update. The device undergone Android 11 testing phase back in December last year and then the rollout was delayed due to adaption issues. Finally, the company has now released a stable Android 11 update for the Redmi Note 8 Pro users. Another good thing is that the update brings MIUI 12.5 which brings lots of good improvements.

The Android 11 update for Redmi Note 8 Pro is currently rolling out in China and should start reaching other regions in the next few weeks. The new update can be identified by software version  V12.5.1.0.RGGCNXM. In terms of changes, the Android 11 and MIUI 12.5 bring chat bubbles, one-time permission, permission auto reset, fast gesture response, improved battery life, a more lightweight MIUI, new animations, new system sounds, and improved performance. The Android security patch is also getting upgraded to May 2021.

Redmi Note 8 Pro users in China who have not received the update yet, can navigate to Settings >> About phone >> System update to manually check for the update. We have also added a download link to the latest ROM for manually installing the update.
