Samsung Galaxy A50 picks up October 2021 security update

Samsung was again the first to release the newest security patch which debuted on Galaxy S21 series. It has already reached a couple of high-end phones, and now it’s the Galaxy A50 mid-range phone, picking up the October 2021 security update.

According to a Sammobile report, the new software update for Galaxy A50 is currently rolling out in some specific regions including Colombia, Bolivia, and the Dominican Republic. It brings the latest security patch released in October 2021. As of now, Samsung has not detailed the new security patch, as to which security and privacy vulnerabilities are getting fixes.

It is a minor security patch update for Galaxy A50 and is not likely to bring UI changes or performance improvements. Currently, the new OTA is rolling out in select regions and should start hitting other regions very soon. To manually check for the new update, navigate to Settings >> Software updates.

Galaxy A50 October 2021 security update

Samsung Galaxy A50 was released back in 2019 with Android 9 Pie out of the box. Thanks to two major OS upgrades, the device is now running on Android 11 OS. It’s good to see a 2-year old mid-range Galaxy phone receiving the latest security patch in early rollout days, even before many premium phones.
