Samsung Galaxy Note 20 gets August 2022 security update in Brazil

The Galaxy Note 20 was one of the very first Samsung phones to get treated with the August 2022 security update. However, the rollout was limited to the US, and later it expanded to various Asian, European, and South American markets. Now, the update has started hitting Galaxy Note 20 users in Brazil.

The August 2022 security patch for the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra comes with the firmware version N986BXXU4FVH4 and N981BXXU4FVH4, respectively. Since it’s not a major update, you do not need to spend a big chunk of your internet data. It weighs around 250MB in size.

The latest security patch for Samsung Galaxy phones fixes dozens of vulnerabilities of different severity levels to enhance user privacy and data security. More specifically, some of these vulnerabilities are linked to Samsung DeX, MAC address leak, Samsung Knox, and improper access control.

Galaxy Note 20 Ultra August 2022 security patch update

Besides the latest security patch, Samsung has updated 12 stock applications. It includes Galaxy Wearable, Samsung Kids, Health, Internet, SmartThings, Galaxy Shop, Samsung Members, Calculator, Samsung Pay, Smart Switch, and Voice Recorder.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra users residing in Brazil have already started getting the August update. In case you haven’t received a notification for the same, go to Settings >> Software updates and tap on Download and install to update your phone.

The South Korean giant introduced the Galaxy Note 20 series in 2020 with Android 10 out of the box. According to the company’s software update policy, the device is entitled to receive four major OS updates. Out of which, Samsung has already released two, as a result, the device is currently running on Android 12. Hence, the Galaxy Note 20 series will receive two more OS updates – Android 13 and Android 14.
