Samsung Galaxy S21 getting July 2022 security update in the US

Earlier this week, Samsung started rolling out the July 2022 security update to the Galaxy S21 series. However, the update was just limited to Germany. Now, the carrier-unlocked version of Galaxy S21 is getting the July 2022 security update in the US.

The carrier-unlocked variants of the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra are getting the new OTA update with the firmware version G99xU1UES5CVF5. The update primarily brings the July 2022 security patch that fixes dozens of vulnerabilities of varying severity levels. It enhances user privacy and data security. The devices are also getting system stability improvements with the latest update.

According to a report from Sammobile, the July 2022 security update for the carrier-unlocked Galaxy S21 is rolling out on AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Comcast, Tracfone, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile networks. It could soon start rolling out to carrier-locked variants in the US.

Samsung has been impressive with its software support. According to the company’s update policy for the Galaxy S21 series, the devices will receive four Android OS updates. Since the Galaxy S21 series has already received Android 12, it is still eligible to receive three more Android OS updates.
