Samsung Galaxy S22 series joins June 2022 security update party

Samsung has been very impressive with the software rollout speed. As the company has been doing with every new security patch, the June 2022 security patch too was released ahead of the month. Galaxy Tab S7 was the first device to get treated with the latest security, which was then rolled out for the Galaxy S21 series, and now Galaxy S22 series has joined the party.

Samsung is reportedly sending the June 2022 security update to Galaxy S22 series users in the Middle East. However, it should only be a matter of time before the update starts hitting other regions. The latest OTA update for Galaxy S22S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra is rolling out with the firmware version S901EXXU2AVEHS906EXXU2AVEH, and S908EXXU2AVEH, respectively.

Though Samsung has not yet detailed the June 2022 security patch, it’s obvious that the security patch will fix numerous vulnerabilities to enhance system security and privacy. With the latest update, five stock applications are getting upgraded to a new version. These are Samsung Internet, Samsung Pay, Calculator, Smart Switch, and Voice Recorder.

While the changelog has no mention of other changes, the hefty download size of 1.7GB of the latest package hints that we might see more changes. It was previously reported that the new update might improve night photography.

If you are a Galaxy S22 user, install the June software update whenever it reaches your phone, and let us know if you see any other changes that are mentioned here in the comments. To check for the latest update on your Galaxy phone, navigate to Settings >> Software updates and hit the Download and install button.
