Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ on Verizon receiving a big update.

Samsung has just recently launched the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ smartphones and just yesterday, the smartphones have started selling in the U.S markets. Though the smartphones have just launched yesterday, it doesn’t mean that the phone can’t get any updates this early. As a matter of fact, T-mobile and Sprint have already released the April security patch for the Samsung S8 and S8+. Now we have reports that Verizon is also releasing an update to the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+. This carrier is currently pushing out updates identified as software version G950USQU1AQD9 and G955USQU1AQD9 for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ respectively.

This new update doesn’t just apply the latest security patch as seen from the updates on other networks, this update also resolves a few issues and adds various software enhancements. These adjustments and under-the-hood optimizations contribute to a much better user experience. As you very well know, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ feature Samsung’s bezel-less Infinity Display. With this build, apps will now be able to take full advantage of all that screen real estate by making use of the new display ratio, 18:9.

The update now brings an additional way to answer calls without having to touch the screen at all. You now have the option of using the Volume Up button to answer calls instead. The camera icon has been redesigned to conform to the design of other stock apps. Notification badges for apps now feature in the same color, which is whole let less confusing.

Make sure that whenever your phone receives the update on your new Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8+, charge your phone’s battery to a level more than 50% and also make sure to download the update on a WiFi network to ensure reliable download of the update patch and install it on your device.
