Samsung’s latest flagship phone, Galaxy S22, was the first phone to receive the May 2022 security patch. Again, it was rolled out before the month’s arrival, and since then the South Korean giant has released the latest security update for Galaxy S21 series and the Galaxy Tab S8 series. Now, the company’s latest foldable phones, Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 have started receiving the May 2022 security patch update.
The latest software update for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 comes with the firmware version F926U1UES1CVD4, while Galaxy Z Flip3 can identify the update via the firmware version F711U1TBS2CVD4. Currently, it is available for the unlocked models in the United States, and Samsung does not take too long to expand the update to more regions.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip3 are mainly getting the May 2022 security patch with the latest update. It includes numerous vulnerabilities fixes to improve the system’s security and privacy. The update might also improve system stability.
As of now, Samsung has not detailed the May 2022 security patch. So, we don’t know which vulnerabilities are getting fixed here. The details are likely to be out in the coming days. If you’re a Galaxy Z Fold3 or Galaxy Z Flip3 user in the US, you are right on the edge to receive the May 2022 security update, if haven’t received it already. Either wait for the update notification or manually check for new updates by navigating to Settings >> Software updates.
Thanks to Samsung’s generous software update policy, the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Fold3 will get four Android updates all the way to Android 15, since it was launched with Android 11 out of the box. Talking about Android 13, Google has already released its first beta build. Samsung is likely to announce the One UI 5.0 beta program, based on Android 13, sometime later this year.
