Samsung to release Android 7.0 to the Galaxy Note 5 in India soon.

We had earlier covered the news that Samsung has started to release the Android 7.0 Nougat update to the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 but the update was region locked and the update was only available in Turkey at that time. This made the users of Turkey the first among the worldwide Note 5 users to get the official update to Android 7.0 Nougat. The update also brought with it the March Security patch on the Note 5.

This also raised questions as to when is Samsung going to release the Android Nougat update to the other parts of the world including India where there are many users of Samsung. We didn’t have any substantial proof till now about the update and there was no word from Samsung on this. But now we have seen some proof that Samsung is starting to release the update to Asian region including India.

The Galaxy Note 5 sporting model number SM-N920G was spotted on GFXbench running Android 7.0 Nougat. That’s good news, something which tells us that Nougat update for that SM-N920G is coming soon too, as only few days ago, Samsung released the Android 7.0 for Note 5, but only for model no. SM-N920C.

As far as Model no. SM-N920G is concerned, this model no. is used by Samsung in Asia mainly — India, Sri Lanka, etc. and even many other countries, like Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, etc. also use the handsets with the same model no.

Turkey looks to have been the first place in the middle east region to get the Nougat OTA for the Galaxy Note 5 (model number SM-N920C). We can also expect more regions like Kuwait and other in the middle east to receive the Nougat OTA soon.

As far as the update is concerned, the OTA update is not released but whenever it does release soon enough, because we have substantial evidence, make sure that your phone is fully charged and that you are connected to a strong wifi network.
