Samsung Updates Galaxy A51 5G with One UI 5.1 in the US

After releasing the update in various regions, Samsung has finally launched the One UI 5.1 update for the Galaxy A51 5G in the United States. The Galaxy A series has gained immense popularity, with the first two phones in the series achieving great success, and the Galaxy A51 also contributing to this success. It’s impressive to witness Samsung providing support for the device even after two years.

In 2020, the Galaxy A51 5G was launched with the Android 10 operating system, and One UI 5 is now the third major update for the device. Typically, mid-range phones are eligible for three major updates, so the One UI 5 update is the third and final major update for the Galaxy A51 5G.

The One UI 5.1 update comes with various enhancements and new features, such as advanced and more efficient search functionality in the Gallery app, a revamped picture information page, improved multitasking, a battery widget, and more. The update also includes an Android security patch jump to February 2023 from December 2022.

The Galaxy A51 5G One UI 5.1 update is rolling out in the US with build number A516USQUBGWC1. Although One UI 5.1 is not a major update, it’s still a big one, and the changelog is extensive. The Camera and Gallery have more powerful search capabilities, allowing you to search for more than one person or subject simultaneously. Remastering is also enhanced, making your pictures look even better by removing shadows and reflections, and the preview is improved for better comparison.

You can also create a shared family album with five GB of storage for each family member (up to six people) and a revamped info display for easier viewing. The multitasking feature now allows you to easily minimize or switch to full screen without going to the options menu, and the split-screen view shows your most used apps below your recently used apps.

Other features include the ability to change wallpapers based on your mode, additional actions for routines, improved search capabilities in Samsung Internet, a quick summary of the current weather conditions on the weather widget, and more.

If you’re a Galaxy A51 5G user in the US, you’ll receive the One UI 5.1 update soon if you haven’t received it already. It’s a batch rollout, so some users may receive the update a few days later than others. To check for the update manually, go to Settings > Software Update. However, before upgrading your phone, make sure to backup your data and charge your phone to at least 50%. If users are familiar with the process, they can manually sideload the firmware on their devices.
