Samsung’s Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge Nougat update has been released in Canada

Samsung has been criticized in the past for providing slow update or no updates to all of its smartphone lineup be it a flagship launched this year or the flagship launched in the past years. This was the case for the company until this year. Samsung has been changing the notion of people about the company by constantly providing updates to all of its phones this year. Samsung’s recently launched Galaxy S8 and S8+ have received the April security updates on the launch day itself. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are alrwady running the Nougat updates on their phones in most parts of the world. One device which didn’t receive the Nougat update particularly in Canada was the S6 Edge.

This is also about to be done as starting today, Samsung has released the Nougat update to the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge in Canada. Samsung Galaxy S6 users in Canada Galaxy S6 are receiving the Nougat update as build number G920W8VLU5DQD1 while the Nougat update is hitting Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge units as build number G925W8VLU5DQD1. With the new firmware update, both the Galaxy devices will be able to taste all the new features the Nougat update brings viz improved notification menu, split window mode and improved battery courtesy Doze mode. The update as is always the case is pushed over as an OTA update and will be reaching your device soon if you stay in the Canada region.

In all probability, the new update also brings regular bug fixes and system improvements, along with the Nougat OS. To check for the update manually, go over to Settings > About device > System updates. If the update arrives then make sure to download the update over a stable WiFi network on your phone.
