Sony Xperia X Concept getting Android 7.1.2 Nougat update next week.

Sony has been silently working on the regular updates to its phones. The company has been under the scanner for the most part when all the companies were seeding security updates as well as Android updates to its phones. Sony also pushed many worthwhile software as well as security updates to its phones. Sony has also launched the Xperia program where the company first released the Android 7.0 Nougat developer preview to the Xperia devices and the users were able to enjoy stock software on their phones. Once again, Sony has been doing the same and the company has anounced that the Android 7.1.2 Nougat update which is an incremental update to the Android 7.0 Nougat will be available for the Xperia X Concept phones starting next week.

It is needless to say that Sony Xperia X Concept will be one of the very few devices to receive the Android 7.1.2 Nougat through this program and even the fastest ones in the market are left behind. The Android 7.1.2 Nougat update is available at the moment to only few Nexus and Pixel devices but this will place the Xperia X Concept phones in those select few devices category. Even the companies which are fastest to update their phones have not been able to update their phones to this version like OnePlus and Samsung.

Sony also released the April security patch update to Xperia X Concept which arrived as software version 38.3.1.A.0.96 and brought the latest security patch from Google to the device.

Some of the key features that Google has added in Android 7.1.2 include improved fingerprint swipe performance, Bluetooth connectivity improvements and Battery usage alerts. The fingerprint swipe will not be live in the Concept, but the other features should be worthwhile updates. We’ll let you know as soon as the new update is live.
