Sony Electronics has had a tough couple of years with the company just like HTC seeing some troubles in the market and there was even a rumor once that Sony is planning to stop manufacturing mobile phones and will instead focus on other products but that was, as the headline suggested, a rumor only. Sony has slowly been getting its space in the market again with the latest launches of Sony Xperia devices which have a sleek look and high-end specifications.
We already reported some time ago that Sony Xperia X Performance will soon be receiving the Nougat update and that news was indeed true. Sony Xperia X Performance is now receiving the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update but the update is currently limited to Canada and the update has been released by Rogers, a Canadian carrier network. The Android 7.1.1 OTA update is rolling out as version 41.2.A.2.199 and also installs the April security patch.
Sony has been very quick to send out the security patches to all of its phones in this past so this comes as no surprise but the update to Android 7.1.1 Nougat is a welcome one on Sony’s part. The Sony Xperia X Performance is a modest phone with a 5-inch 1080p display. The Sony Xperia X Performance is powered by a Snapdragon 820 chipset with 3GB of RAM and a bright 23MP camera. The Sony Xperia X Performance has a 2700mAh battery which is lower to its competition but decent nevertheless.
Coming back to the update, the Sony Xperia X Performance is receiving the update to Android 7.1.1 Nougat which also comes with the April security patch in Canada so it is highly recommended to install it as soon as it comes to your device. Make sure to download the update on a stable WiFi network to ensure seamless update process.
