Teclast Tbook 16 Pro Short Review: Thin yet Powerful (Flash Promo Sale)
Hardware and design
This device is powered by Intel Atom Cherry Trail X5 Z8600 and can turbo up to 2.24GHZ and has Intel HD Gen8 12 EU unit to provide high quality gameplay and HD quality audio-video playing. Its RAM is dual channel 2 x 2 GB meaning 4 GB in total. It is more than enough for Android but is also good enough for Windows.
Its design and build is very decent and exactly what you expect from a Teclast product. Its rear is covered with matte black paint which is resistant to fingertips. The outer frame is also a hard matte ABS type of plastic. This 2 in 1 tablet PC weighs just 877 grams and is 9.88mm thick.
Screen and touch sensitivity
This device has a 11.6 inch Panasonic VVX11F019G00 (MEI96A2) screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels which gives a PPI of 190 which is good enough for a tablet. It is not super sharp when it comes to display and the pixels can only be spotted if noticed very closely.
It has a maximum brightness of just 190 cd/m2 which means it will really hard to observe what is on the screen when viewed under sunlight. The minimum brightness is 4 cd/m2 and is very dark which makes it extremely dull in normal environment but excellent when it comes to night time lights off reading.
The touch accuracy was observed to be around 95%. However, there were some issues of double tapping to open folders on the desktop. The screen lags sometimes when run on Windows OS but when run on Android OS, it showed no such issues.
Ports and Connectivity
All the ports can be found on the left side of the tablet. There is a port for microphone, 3.5mm audio jack, microUSB and also for HDMI port.
USB 3.0 port has some issues as it isn’t able to recognize all external drives. So you might have to revert to USB 2.0 as backup.
When using the tablet PC with 40% brightness and Wi-Fi turned on, you can surf new and watch YouTube videos for around 4 hours on Android. While on Windows, in the same scenario you can reach over 5 hours and 30 minutes. This can be considered as a negative point of this tablet PC.
The device will charge relatively quickly when charged via DC jack instead of using MicroUSB port like other tablets. It will get fully charged in around 3 hours which is an hour or so less than what other tablets require.

As a 2 in 1 tablet PC, TeclastTbook 16 Pro works really well. It is fast, has good resolution and the experience has very few lags and stutters. The key dock is well built and works well even though the device becomes bulky when combined with the whole package.
When run on Windows, the device faced a lot of issues. High temperatures cause lags and the USB 3.0 port is either a hit or a miss sometimes. The battery life of the device is also comparatively low.
While this device is far from perfect, but what exactly is perfect in this imperfect world? It is a good device which you can buy at just $219.99, visit here to buy the device for the best price
