  • Install Android SDK tools and set up ADB and Fastboot on your computer.
  • Keep the battery charge of the device to at least 50% to prevent accidental shutdown.

Steps to Unlock Bootloader On Verizon Google Pixel 2

Step 1. Boot your Verizon Google Pixel 2 into bootloader mode. For that, switch off your phone and press Volume Down + Power button together for some time until you see the bootloader screen.

Step 2. Now that you are in bootloader mode, connect the device to your computer.

Step 3. Go to the installation folder of ADB and Fastboot and right-click on the blank space and click on Command Prompt option.

Step 4. Type the following command to make sure your device is recognized.

fastboot devices

The output should display your Device ID with ‘Fastboot’ message.

Step 5. Unlock the bootloader by using the following command –

fastboot flashing lock_critical

As soon as it executes, you will receive a message of the screen of your phone.

Step 6. Use the volume keys to navigate to ‘Unlock The Bootloader’ option and press the Power button to confirm it.

Step 7. Finally, type the following command to reboot your device.

fastboot reboot

Disconnect the smartphone from your computer and you can go ahead and install TWRP recovery and root it to install anything you want.
