WhatsApp developers are always working hard to redesign their app, improve existing features, and add new features to improve the user experience. Recently, WhatsApp started testing new features like usernames and the screen-sharing feature.
Now, it seems that WhatsApp has been planning to improve the Status Tab by introducing a new feature for Business profiles called the “Status Archive”. If you are intrigued by this feature and want to know more about it, then this guide will be perfect for you.
In this guide, you will get to know about WhatsApp introducing the Status Archive feature for Businesses on Android.
What is the “Status Archive” feature for businesses on Android all about?
WhatsApp has been testing a new “Status Archive” feature as a part of the WhatsApp Business Beta for Android 2.23.11.18. This feature will allow businesses to share their previously made status updates again with the customers if needed.
How WhatsApp’s “Status Archive” feature for Businesses on Android will work?
If your account is eligible, you’ll get a banner notification within the Status Tab. You will be able to enable Status Archive by clicking the “Archive Settings” option. Once it is enabled, any status update you’re posting moving forward will still be accessible to you even after the customary 24-hour expiration period of up to 30 days. This is similar to the Story Archives feature on Instagram.
The archived status updates will be private and only visible to the respective business account. Moreover, you’ll also be able to modify your archive preferences and view your archived updates straight from the status tab. It can be a handy feature as it’ll allow businesses to republish stories for maximum reach and engagement. This feature will benefit businesses during their customary campaigns and promotions. Businesses will also have the option to create Facebook and Instagram ads using archived status.
As of now, WhatsApp has made this feature available to select Beta testers. More business accounts will be receiving this feature over the coming weeks. There’s no update yet on whether this feature will arrive for regular WhatsApp accounts or not. For now, if you’re on the WhatsApp Beta channel, you must give this feature a try. If you haven’t received it, wait for a while and it’ll arrive shortly.
