Xiaomi Mi A3 launched in India with Android One program and more

Xiaomi’s Android One program featured Stock Android series works best for the company and for the consumers as well. The company has just launched Xiaomi Mi A3 in India on Wednesday, August 21. It’s the third-generation of Mi A-series under Android One platform. The A-series offers great value for money budget smartphone with a better camera, Stock UI, and faster update support. It comes with gradient glossy back panel, a waterdrop-style notch for the selfie, and triple rear camera setup. The handset offers good specs in its price segment with the chipset, camera, in-display fingerprint sensor, and more. It was launched in Europe last month for the global market.

Now, the device launched in India and will be available on Amazon India and Mi.com websites from August 23. As we all know that Android One platform is known for providing faster and frequent software updates to its devices just like Pixel devices. Apart from the flagship devices, Android One smartphones receive major Android updates for two years and security patches for three years.

Xiaomi Mi A3 Specifications and Features

The Mi A3 handset offers a unique gradient color design with Super AMOLED display and all other significant features. It has a very tiny chin at the bottom of the display with a waterdrop notch style for a better look and aspect ratio. The handset comes with a 6.08-inches HD+ Super AMOLED display with 720×1560 pixels resolution. It’s packed with Gorilla Glass 5 protection and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio.

This is a dual Nano-SIM device which runs on Android 9 Pie with Android One Stock UI out-of-the-box. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC coupled with 4GB of RAM and Adreno 610 GPU. It features 64GB and 128GB of onboard storage options which is expandable via a microSD card up to 256GB. In terms of the connectivity options, the phone includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, A-GPS, USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, and more. While the smartphone packs a decent 4,030 mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.

Whereas the phone sports a triple rear camera setup of a 48MP primary sensor with an f/1.79 lens, an 8MP secondary sensor with a 118-degree wide-angle & f/1.79 lens. While there is a 2MP third sensor available for depth sensing mode. On the front side, the smartphone packs a single 32MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture lens with AI modes like Face Unlock, Beauty mode, Portrait mode. It has 153.48×71.85×8.5mm dimensions.

Price and Availability in India

The Xiaomi Mi A3 handset priced in India at INR 12,999 for the 4GB+64GB model and INR 15,999 for the 6GB+128GB model. It will be available in ‘Not Just Blue’, ‘More Than White’, and ‘Kind of Gray’ color options. The device will go on sale on Amazon India website, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores from 12 pm (noon) IST on August 23.
