The latest Nothing OS update has finally arrived for the Nothing Phone 2. The latest update to the Nothing OS, Version 2.5.6, includes one of the most requested features: the ability to hide the navigation bar for a more visible screen area.

A few other notable changes include improvements to ChatGPT integration, additional lock screen customization options, and styling controls for the status bar icons. Security is also being patched up with the latest fixes from June.

Steps to hide the navigation bar on Nothing OS?

To hide the navigation bar, go to Settings > System > Navigation Mode and select the “Hide” choice. Quick Settings on the lock screen can now be toggled on/off from the Lock Screen menu in Settings.

Speaking of customization, you’ll find status bar icon options under Settings > Display. The update should smooth out any previous issues people have encountered with apps, too.

Other tweaks include refreshed quick settings animations, carrier display fixes, and adjusted haptics for the back gesture. Overall, this aims to enhance both usability and stability.

How to update Nothing Phone 2 to Nothing OS 2.5.6

1. Verify your current version under Settings > About Phone > Software Info.
2. Download the update to your computer.

6. The local update tool will launch
