The popular battle royale game, Battlegrounds Mobile India (BMI), was banned by the Indian government in July 2022 due to concerns about its potential impact on children’s privacy and security. The developer of the game, Krafton, has since made changes to address these issues and is hopeful that the ban will be lifted soon.
Prospects of BGMI unban in February 2023
Recently, renowned YouTuber and e-sports player Jonathan Gaming announced a possible relaunch of BMI in February 2023; however this news has not been officially confirmed by either Krafton or the Indian government. Until an official announcement is made regarding whether or not BMI will be unbanned in India it remains uncertain if it ever make its way back into circulation within Indian markets.
It’s understandable why parents are concerned over their children playing video games like BMI as they can have a negative effect on physical health as well as mental wellbeing when played excessively without moderation – something which many young players may struggle with given how addictive such games can become for some individuals.
It’s also important for parents to ensure that their child’s online safety is taken seriously so any risks associated with playing such games should always be considered before allowing them access – even if ultimately allowed at some point down line following further review from authorities .
