After releasing the April 2024 security update for the Galaxy S23 series in the European region, Samsung has begun the rollout of the same update to the Galaxy S22 series in Europe.Galaxy S22 models in Europe are now receiving the April 2024 Android security update with firmware version S908BXXS8DXD2. This appears to be based on the existing One UI 6.0 build.
Sadly, Samsung has not provided any details on what improvements or bug fixes may be included in this monthly security maintenance release beyond the latest vulnerability patches.
So while the April patch is a minor update, which probably patches some security vulnerabilities and enhances the stability.
Check the April 2024 update manually
So users can check the software updates from Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the update and wait for it to complete. Once done, reboot your device to apply changes.
Remember, the update is rolled out in a stagged manner, so it may take up to a few days to be available on all the supported devices.
One UI 6.1 Expected Soon
The real excitement surrounds the imminent arrival of the One UI 6.1 update. According to reports from trusty tech insiders like Tarun Vats, this major One UI revision could start rolling out to the Galaxy S22 series as soon as late April or May 2024.
